Designs for Different Futures: EARTHS

Resource Page for Volunteer Guides

LIVING: Earths

It’s not just science-fiction fans and would-be astronauts who are enthralled by the idea of going into space. Resource limitations, threatened ecological collapse, and an expanding population on Earth have made extraterrestrial exploration attractive for a number of reasons, including tourism and emigration. Such desires for interplanetary futures are shaped not only by imaginations but by those who have access to the necessary tools and technologies. In this section, designers demonstrate that the power of imagination and community are profound tools for creating a sustainable existence, whether on or off Earth.
