Finding Aids

Finding aids are guides and descriptive inventories for our archival collections. Typically, it includes information about the origin, history, content, date, format, and organization of the records. You can browse all our finding aids through ArchivesSpace.

Below are examples of how to use the catalogue to find items of interest, using Marcel Duchamp as an example:

Going Directly to a Collection

Much of our material can be located by navigating directly to the finding aid, located on the side of the landing page.

Searching Across Collections

You can also search across all of our collections from the landing page. The results page will take you to the collection where the material is held.

Search Tips

You can also search within a particular collection. However, our collections are described to folder level, not item level, so if a name isn't written on the folder, it won't appear in the search results. If you have any questions or want some help, just contact us!
